The 180 Satchel is a versatile, handmade bag with a circular bottom edge and a straight zipper closure. The straight edge can be worn folded down for a smaller bag, or unfolded to expand the main zipper pocket to hold more items, a book, or a bundle of letters. The bag also features an external easy access pocket, a removable strap, and a beautiful peek-a-boo lining. The exterior is embellished with original art by Rae Heller, a New England based artist. Rae painted directly on the cotton canvas for each bag in this collection, which means the bags can never be recreated. Each bag is a wearable, original, one-of-a-kind piece of art. The bag measures 7" across at the opening, 8" tall when unfolded, and 5.5" tall when folded. The external pocket is 7" wide and 5.5" tall.
While the strap is not adjustable, I am happy to create a custom-length strap to suit your body and style. The original strap length is 51.5" including the metal hardware on each end. Please leave me a note at checkout with your ideal length to receive a custom strap at no extra charge. Please note that requesting a custom strap may delay shipment by up to 5 business days.
Half Sky Designs strives for sustainability. My products are always made in small batches to prevent excess, and I work hard to reduce the impact of my sourcing. The natural, undyed canvas of this bag is made with 100% organic cotton canvas, and the lining is made from the leftover scrap of a previous project. The strap hardware is new overstock, and the zipper is vintage! When painting the bags, Rae used leftover palette paint as often as possible.
